Seeking affordable invite calligrapher NYC

Alabaster, on July 17, 2013 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Any NYC brides have recs for an affordable wedding invite calligrapher? Could even be a student or stay-at-home mom who does it on the side, not a total pro.

I looked for a calligrapher and didn't really find anyone who fit a modest budget but I did find a printer who copies calligraphy called Lightning Copy Center in Manhattan

MaryAnne looks top notch but way too expensive. My invites were super budget so I don't want to break the bank addressing them. Might have to do it myself I guess Smiley sad

Print your envelopes in a calligraphy or other nice font in a color similar to the envelopes if you can, and trace them over in a nice gold or silver pen. That's what I'm doing.

Strangely a lot of my NYC friends used a lady in NC called Calligraphy by Carrie

    http://www.calligraphybycarrie.com/

Her rates were much lower than local people.

Try looking for digital calligraphy. It looks just as good as the hand done stuff and costs a ton cheaper! Usually only $1 or two an envelope

Can I ask what you finally choose to do. I'm in the same situation right now. Bought my invitations on Wedding Paper Diva and they don't offer addressing.
