Hi y'all! Our wedding isn't until next summer, but seeing as I am at home, I have been doing a lot of wedding work. My venue requires a security officer if you have over 100 people in the building, and I think that we are going to go over that 100 mark. The venue seemed eager in some online information that they would like to get a contract with a security officer pretty soon after you book. I emailed their "officer liaison" a while ago and got no response. Is it reasonable to book a security officer over a year before the date? Is that even possible? When should you book security for an event?

Hi Emily! I’d defer to your venue on this one!! If they recommend locking down a security officer right away then I’d follow their advice.
Do you have to book through their officer liaison? If so I’d just keep following up with them! Since it’s required for you to have a security officer present I wouldn’t mess around and try to secure one ASAP.
