Securing a drop veil with no tiara/visible pins

Anna, on April 5, 2019 at 2:52 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 6

Hello!

I am planning to wear a simple drop veil with a blusher. I love the way Lady Charlotte Wellesley styled her veil, so that it is clearly a drop veil, but when the blusher is lifted, it sits like a mantilla. I also love that you can't see any fastening like a tiara, comb, or pins, but it is clearly secured somehow, or else it would slide of the back of her head.

Does anyone know how she secured the veil to her head?

Thank you in advance for any guidance!

It has to be sewn to small combs or bobby pins, to stay like that. It's just not gathered first. You can secure a drop veil really discreetly if you get combs or bobby pins that match your hair color. I'm guessing there's one stitched right where that dot is that's at the top of her head, to the side of her part. You can see the stress point just a little bit.

You can definitely tell theres something there with the way the veil sits on her head. My guess is they used the dots to sew in bobby pins or something.

I would assume a bobby pin. You can see in the last photo that it is definitely pinned by something slightly off center from her hair line. I would also guess there is a bobby pin on each side. Her hair is dark so it would be very easy to hide a bobby pin.

I agree with others about the bobby pins hidden with the dots. I'm sure it also helps that someone is carrying the veil so that it doesn't pull on her head.

I disagree that anything is sewn to the veil.

Check out this and other you tube videos. The second look she describes is really invisible.
