Secrets Resorts.. butler?

FutureMrs.G, on March 7, 2017 at 7:15 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 14

We are going to Secrets St James in Jamaica for our honeymoon, and we have an upgraded ocean view preferred suite, but I can't find anything about a butler. I think we want one to help us make reservations and save seats at the pool, etc. I want to be sure it's worth it if it's an extra cost though.Has anyone been to a secrets resort and had a butler? How did you know if it was included and was it worth it?

Following. Interested in the answer as to what is included with a butler as well. FH wants a swim out room and they all include a butler from what I've been seeing.

Where are you seeing that? I can't find anything on a butler on the whole site, I'm definitely missing something!

My coworker just got back from her honeymoon and said that the butler option was really awkward for them.

@FutureMrs.G We aren't looking at secrets resorts. Other resorts I've looked at have all said it but didn't include any details about what they actually do. Sorry, should have mentioned that above.

We loved our Secrets resort for our honeymoon but didn't need a butler! We never had any issues getting a spot by the pool or beach, you don't need reservations for the restaurants, and the service was impeccable all over the resort!

We are going to the Secrets St. James resort a week after you. We booked the same type of room as you, I think you have to choose a room selection that includes a butler to get one. I don't think you can add one as an additional service, check out the room types and you may have to upgrade again.

I have been to that resort! Absolutely gorgeous. Can't add anything about a butler but not sure it's necessary

I stayed there a few years ago and never had a problem getting a lounge chair. It was beautiful there- I still think about the jerk chicken cart!

The butler option isn't an 'add on' it comes with a certain level of room. When you are looking at room options it will say if it has a butler or not.

Here's a link to the information about butler service (from Sandal's website) http://www.sandals.com/all-inclusive/butler-service/ Keep in mind (if you do end up upgrading to butler level) that if you use the butler for anything, it is customary to tip for each service.

Hi! I stayed at this resort last spring and we had a preferred club ocean front suite. We did have a butler in the sense that a man introduced himself to us as such but we didn't really see him much after that. However, when we checked in, the nice woman that helped us made reservations for us for dinner.

I do not think that anyone will save you seats at the pool but in my experience at that resort, you should be able to find something. My FH and I are not super early risers on vacation and we always find pretty good chairs either by one of the pools or on the beach.

Last thing- I think Preferred Club is worth it. Check in is faster and the best part is that there is a private bar on the ground floor of the Preferred Club buildings. We went there all the time and they have all top shelf liquor. It was super convenient to be able to get a quality cocktail every time we left our room or when we were on the way back up.

    Have fun!!

Thanks @Theresa but we aren't staying at Sandals, I don't think it works the same since that is a different company.

@leelee, super helpful! We are using our RCI timeshare, so preferred was the only option so we're definitely sticking with that Smiley smile
