Secret Elopement and mini-honeymoon suggestions?

Nicole, on April 20, 2020 at 4:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 2
Should our late June date and honeymoon (Disney World and a Disney Cruise totaling two weeks) be impacted by COVID-19, how do we keep our Sunday date and do something special anyway? We are in Chicago area and would be willing to drive anywhere within a 12 hour distance to get away and have a nice time as a couple. Any recommendations? Also, I’m not too familiar with licensing so would we need a license for wherever we decided to marry?

I'm not sure how safe a Disney trip and cruise would be at the end of June so I would definitely start looking for other options! I'm not sure of other ideas that are driving distance from you but yes you have to get a license in the state you plan to get married in. Good luck!

I just read an article on another discussion where couples decided to get married on or close to the wedding date they had planned on but had to change because of COVID-19. Most of them got married at the comfort of their own home. Maybe that's something you might consider. Look into a close family member or friend being your officiant or look for an officiant online. That way you keep your date. If its safe to travel by then, maybe you can do a little road trip and stay at some bed and breakfast places? Visit and explore new places together.
