Second thoughts

Lynne, on July 21, 2020 at 12:59 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I'm beginning to have second thoughts on my dress. It's pretty but I don't really think it's my style.

At the time I bought it, I was just excited to be looking and I really really liked the dress. But over the year (since I bought it) I have been wearing a different length dresses (not bridal) and I am really loving a knee length dress. The one I got is a tea length.

Problem is: I bought the dress and I can't return it. I bought the dress last year because the original date was this summer. But things came up and the wedding date was pushed back.
What do I do?

Would it work to have your tea length hemmed to knee length??

It might look a little strange. It's an A line style. This IS the one I bought. But it hasn't been altered yet. I don't know if it would look good shortenedSecond thoughts 1

You can try listing it on Stillwhite.com if you have truly fallen out of love with it.

Take it to a seamstress and see what they think. It’s possible that at the current level of pouf that it won’t look right but maybe they can slim it down to keep the proportions right. Worth a shot at least.

There is always consignment or selling online, though that isn’t always a quick way to make money back.
Whatever you choose I hope you find something you feel awesome in Smiley smile

This is such a pretty dress! Hopefully you are able to have it altered to fit your style if that’s something you’re considering 😊

That dress is beautiful, I think you could possibly get it altered to meet your wants. I would give it a great vintage 50's look

I'd try to get it altered first - I think it would still work! Otherwise, you can list it to sell and buy a new one.
