Second thoughts

Kelly, on July 30, 2019 at 9:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
So I waited for a trunk show to go dress shopping and I did not have an ideal situation my sister was really embarrassing and honestly sorta ruined the whole experience I tried on a few dresses but just wanted to buy a dress and get out of there I found a dress that met all the checkboxes but it was 10 sizes too large so it's hard to really tell how it will fit it wont come in until October for my first fitting but now im.freaking out and having second thoughts anyone else feel that way right after say yes to the dress ?

    Are you saying you are around a 2 and bought a 22 or that you're about a 2 and bought a 12?

So the sample size was a 22 but I ordered a 12 so since I guess technically 5 sizes too large it was still just hard to see where the lace etc will fall even with it being pinned up

I had second thoughts right after leaving the store. I think we have second thoughts because we spend so much money on a dress that we aren’t sure will look good the day of (because the alterations come after). We just want everything to be perfect that day, and from what I’ve seen on WW it’s pretty common to have second thoughts.

Yea exactly everyone says u should have some bridial " when u know u know moment" but I never had that it was a very logical choice guess I'll have to wait for the first fitting to really tell

You obviously liked the style and could visualize yourself in it. Once it comes in and fits well, you will feel a lot better. Almost all dresses are going to need alterations for the perfect fit anyway. Dont fret. You will be beautiful!

Don’t worry about not having “the moment”. I think it’s often played up for tv and social media. I too am very logical when it comes to shopping in general and rarely get excited moments about clothing (I didn’t have an emotional moment with the gown I’ve purchased but felt great in it). If you liked it and it checked your boxes, I’m sure you’re going to love it when it comes in in your size in October.

I HAD the "moment" and i'm still suffering from major dress doubts. the dress I tried on in the store was only 1 size too big (a size 4 instead of a size 2). When my dress came in, and I tried i on, I didn't feel the magic and it still felt a bit big (but a size 0 would be too small most likely) I'm hoping I'll fall in love again when I can start alterations in a year and a half or so. I'm thinking about going back to the store to try the sample on again xD (I don't have easy access to my actual dress as it's at my FIL's house)
