Second thoughts on my dress

Nicole, on January 26, 2020 at 9:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
I purchased my dress from a bridal outlet. It is a sample and needs a few repairs but I got it for a great price and I'm told fixing it will not be an issue. I've been having second thoughts since I purchased it and not just because of its need for repairs. This weekend while shopping for bridesmaids dresses with my girls, the woman at the store pulled a gown similar to mine so that we were able to get an idea of how the style of tbe bridesmaids dresses would look with the style of my gown. Now I cant get this dress out of my mind. The dress she pulled for comparison had everything I love about the dress I already bought and none of the things I keep second guessing. I would really like to go back and try this dress on but my MOH thinks this is a really bad idea. My wedding is 9/5/2020. With less than 9 months until my wedding, I'm not even sure purchasing a new dress is a possibility. Then comes the hassle of attempting to resell the gown I already purchase. That being said, I dont want to regret my choice on my wedding day. Am I being silly? Thoughts?

Not being silly. Follow your gut. You want to feel your absolute best on your big day.
    Trying it on, can't hurt.
Go for it! I had veil regret. I went back and exchanged a finger-tip length veil for a Cathedral length veil.So worth it! I cried when I saw myself and knew my gut was right all along.Trust yourself! Let me know how it goes!❤

I agree, trust yourself. It would be better to at least try it on and if you don’t change your mind then you don’t change your mind. But if you do change your mind then it will be worth it! 😊

Depending on if you have to order it and it's more customized, I would think 9 months is fine. People were giving me such a hard time about dress shopping when I went. Our engagement will only be about 7 months long total. I went shopping with 6 months to go. I got my dress from BHLDN and it was at my house 1 week after I ordered it. It's been hanging in my closet for almost 2 months now waiting for me to get it altered.

Basically, it's totally possible to make it work! It's all up to you. I'd say go try it on again and see what you think. I have friends who still regret the dress they wore and don't like looking at their wedding pictures. Makes me sad.

It's a really common feeling but you mentioned the second dress is pretty similar to yours already. Since your first dress needs repairs can it be done to look like the second dress?

This really comes down to budget. Presuming you can’t resell the original dress, can you afford the new one? If so, it wouldn’t hurt to try it on. If not it *could* hurt to try it on.
