Second postponement wording advice ?

Tia, on January 4, 2021 at 2:33 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4
Thanks to everyone who commented on our first post, the advice was much appreciatedSmiley smile
We are postponing our wedding a second time (first time was because of the pandemic) and now we're expecting!
The majority of you advised us to send the announcement we're expecting and postponement together.

We'd like advice on wording for the postponement. We want to keep it short, simple and lighthearted (as it's second time we're doing this).
We're thinking of using terms like "Special Guest" or "Plus one" to keep it lighthearted.
Here's what we have in mind (so far.. ) we keep making tweaks :
Change of PlansSurprise! We're expecting! Our wedding celebration scheduled for August 2021 will be changed to a future date as we eagerly await the arrival of a very special guest. We will be sure to keep you informed of our new date when it is set and hope you will all join us in celebrating our plus one, due Sept 2021 !
Thoughts, input, advice?
Tia.

I think you nailed it. I like referring to the babe as a "special guest" - so cute! And huge congratulations!

I think that wording is adorable! However, since you were married a few years ago, I would change “wedding celebration” to “celebration of marriage” or “vow renewal”.
