Second guessing all my decisions

Lauren + Ryan, on January 15, 2016 at 12:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

We are six weeks out from the big day I'm staring to second guess many of my decisions around the wedding. I chose a ballgown, but did I really want the lace dress? I chose bright flowers, but did I really want pastels? Do I really like the style I had her do for the hair trial, or should I go away from romantic and more towards sleek?

Is anyone else in this same boat? Is it normal to second guess many decisions?

Mm I know for me seeing everyone's lovely photos can make it harder. Maybe stop looking at any other pictures or inspiration of dresses/flowers/ hair?

It builds up "dress envy" :3

Your day is going to be perfect and you picked that stuff for a reason! Agree, don't look at inspiration anymore, you're almost there!

I have these thoughts while I'm making decisions so I completely understand, but you'll be happy just to be with your FH and loved ones!

For the most part all those decisions can be changed. I had a visit with my florist the week of my wedding to see my bouquet and centerpiece sample. I'm sure you could call you florist and re work. The dress, not changeable probably unless you have the budget to buy a new one. The hair also negotiable. It's ok to change your mind. Unless it comes to the groom!

I've changed so much already just from starting to plan in November. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do for flowers, what my head pieces would look like, what I wanted to centerpieces... But now they are all changed, not drastically but definitely different. I can only imagine what the next 8 months hold lol.

    Good luck to you though.

I have this fear! Lol. I'm seriously the most indecisive person I know! But I have good friends and family that continue to remind me my day will be perfect. As I'm sure yours will!

Once I make a decisions, I TRY to just be done and over with it. I know how you feel though. It will all be beautiful.

I totally had this. I had moments of like, "Shit, I am not an event planner, and nothing I picked is going to work well together." But it was done, and no way in hell I was starting over! And you know what? Everything looked beautiful and if it didn't, so what. It'll be fine!

Here is the great thing about this; NO ONE KNOWS WHAT YOU DIDN"T PICK! They'll just know that what you DID do was great!

    Don't you feel better now?

    It'll be wonderful.

I think this is caused by looking at others photos, and pinterest. I am 5 days out and found myself second guessing all my decor and decisions. Clearly its too late to change anything, and I think its just the stress. But my advice for anyone reading this that is still in the planning process is really listen to yourself and what you want. Don't ask others for their opinions or input.
