SEATTLE BRIDES- Rehearsal Dinner Ideas?!

Katie, on July 7, 2016 at 4:20 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

We are on the hunt for a decently affordable (Under $3,500 preferably) rehearsal dinner for space in the downtown Seattle area that can accommodate up to 45 people. I know. I'm crazy. My FH's mom is all for paying for it and told me not to worry about the cost but I don't feel like going YOLO with someone else's money. We really want to serve a sit-down meal since everyone will either be traveling from Kansas City, MO or Boston, MA for the wedding. So we feel like we should at least feed people a decent meal.

So far we've looked at Ivar's (more than $4,000 after tax), Assaggio ($6,000 plus tax), and a few others. Most spaces either won't fit everyone or it's a million dollars. Has anyone seen anything recently that's affordable and good quality?

I'm in Seattle I almost had my wedding here but decided to have it in FH's hometown in NC. But I'll still give some ideas that will hopefully help.

Best places I would have my rehersal dinner (GL 45) :

The Pink Door-- romantic, hidden of Post Alley, good for groups, really one of my fav restaurants.

Metropolitan Grill, elegant steakhouse with private dining rooms in downtown.

Tulio's has a gorgeous private library for dining upstairs but might be more $$

The Canal in Ballard. I've been to a work party there and also at The Georgetown Ballroom in south Seattle. Both have in house catering I think and very unique but could be more venue like.

Steelhead Diner at the Pike Place market can do private events of 48 and its in a great location for your OOT and is reasonable priced.

My MOH had her rehearsal dinner at Art Marble 21 right by lake Union, the have private dinning areas and are reasonably priced.

Did you look into Anthony's Home Port in Downtown on the waterfront. Great views and great seafood.

I saved this one for last because this is where I would have gottern married or had a reception in Seattle: The Ruins at the bottom of Queen Ann. It's Seattles 'best kept secret'--it is absolutely gorgeous, old world European charm, has 4 private rooms to accommodate different sized groups. Oooooh, love this place.

    Good luck!

DICKS. (it's a restaurant people, don't flag me. and yes I'm kidding, but also hungry and want Dicks.)

Do you want it IN the city or could it be somewhere near Seattle? I feel like nice restaurants will be cheaper outside of Seattle vs in Seattle.

Seattle here! Hey Kari...good choices - Met Grill is my fav restaurant, but you WON'T come in under $3500 there for sure. Have you checked Salty's on Alki? They have a kinda steep minimum, but you might squeak by and the view is TO DIE FOR! Tulios is out of the ballpark for sure, so is Pink Door. Canal is ok, but I think you have to have catering brought in. Anthony's is a good choice, but probably in the ball park of Ivars. OP= why downtown?? Why not somewhere outside, Bellevue (though still pricey) or if it is folks coming in town - closer to the airport - Tukwila maybe (Southcenter) @Mrs. CK... I can't stand Dicks. (the restaurant *smirk*). Any restaurant that charges me a nickel for a mustard packet... now... ZIPPYS!!! mmmmm... yummmm

Yeah, I thought some of those would be pricey. I really hope OP looks at Steelhead Dinner at Pike Place, think it might work with the budget and who doesn't want to see Pike Place Market?

I Think Art Marble 21 might be good too, it was great for my MOH, very laid back but dressy casual restaurant.

    Now I'm crazing some Dicks!!

    Smirky-smirk!

If you like the Ballard area, Stone burner is great they have private rooms and the rooftop pavilion which is beautiful!

Thank you for the ideas! We wanted to have it in downtown because all of our guests will be staying downtown for the wedding. Our ceremony/ reception will be at the Seattle World Trade Center (I worked for Holland America Line and got a nice discount because they sponsor the space there Smiley smile ). We wanted to do Serafina but trying to shuttle that many people out of the city would be a nightmare. I think we're going to do Anthony's just because it's right near the venue and has a space big enough to accommodate everyone now.
