Seats Reserved in Your Honor

Stephanie, on June 4, 2018 at 10:14 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9

In case anyone doesn't know, Vistaprint has a coupon code for 50% off for the next 3 days. I am ordering my rsvp cards and invitations with a template I bought from Etsy for $6. I have seen seats reserved in your honor but, I am genuinely interested does this wording bother anyone? It kind of makes me feel weird. Anyone else? The option it came with was "Guests attending" but I figured I might be safer doing "reserved in your honor" so there is no confusion on who is invited. What do you guys think?

I think its ultimately up to you and what you would like to do, and how it fits on your RSVP card.

We did __ of __ Attending. It was the wording we liked best and that way it was 100% clear to everyone involved how many seats where reserved and there was no confusion for us on how many in the party planned to attend.

Both phrasing choices express the same idea. I imagine the phrasing, "reserved in your honor," is intended to be more formal, and more of a direct statement of the number of companions that a guest is permitted as printed on the invitation. I would consider the phrasing, "guests attending," a less formal offer that allows guests to indicate how many guests will accompany them from the individuals listed on the invitation. Either phrase will work effectively to express your request for the number of guests attending when your guests rsvp. Best of luck!

We are doing the same thing on ours. I want to be clear on how many people we are expecting. I had a friend do this last year and when I got her invitation I thought it was a great idea

No one is going to care but me right? No one is going to think "That Stephanie is so weird for putting, seats reserved in your honor on her rsvp cards".

If you are concerned about guests showing up who aren't invited it would be wise to use the "we have reserved..." rsvp cards. It's the accepted wording. Enjoy your day. We did on June 1, 2018...glad it's (planning) over! Enjoying my husband.

I was literally thinking the same thing after I ordered my invitations and response cards. I chalked it up as “I am definilty over thinking”. No one is going to question/notice/think it’s weird. I’ve seen it before on invitations I’ve received.

Personally, I don't really like it. I've never heard of people doing that before joining WW, and guests adding extra/uninvited guests is just not a thing that happens where I live. I addressed the invites to whomever was invited, and people RSVP'd appropriately.
