Seating

Melissa, on July 18, 2019 at 6:34 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
So I’ve seen signs that’s state “We are family once the knot is tied, so pick a seat not a side” which is a fabulous idea for us because the majority of the people at my wedding will be my fiancé’s family. So I am going to do that but would it make much sense then to have assigned seating for the reception!?? Because then people who shouldn’t sit together might get stuck sitting at the same table. Please help!

I had that for the ceremony. For the reception you could do assigned tables - it just makes it a lot easier to assign tables

Most people have open seating for the ceremony. It’s fine to still assign seats or tables for the reception.

I agree that sign is mostly for the ceremony. Receptions should have a seating chart or record cards to avoid many potential issues and keep things easy for everyone.
