Seating for Long Rows of Tables, 60 Guests....open or Arranged???

I’m planning a commitment ceremony and reception for my two dear friends, a couple who both have Downs Syndrome. For 60 guests, and two long rows for tables, I’m not sure if open seating with just the “bride” and “groom’s” immediate families reserved, or a complete arrangement. ????

    I would assign seats for everyone, especially if you’re going to have the exact same number of guests and chairs.

    I agree with PPs. For long tables, i'd definitely assign everyone to a seat!

    With long tables it is better to assign seats. Couples will have a better time talking to each other if they are seated next to each other instead of across from each other. If you don't assign seats this way then it will be difficult for couples to sit next to each other if other people take those seats.

    I had 3 long tables on each side of my room with 40 guests and assigned their seats.

    I would assign seats. It just makes it so much easier when you know you have a spot to sit with your guest.

    We had 125 guests in 3 long tables. I assigned seats to every person.Seating for Long Rows of Tables, 60 Guests....open or Arranged??? 2
