Seating for all or not

Every butt needs a seat. Unless your caterers have agreed to stay all night, everyone is going to eat at one time.

Id Say Have Enough Seating For All Your Guests, To Prevent Not Having ENOUGH.

You need enough seats at the off chance that everyone IS eating at once.

I’ve never seen anything other than people eating dinner all at once at a wedding.

Recently my nephew & his wife choose not to have seating for all guests. They assumed folks would dance, mingle and chat at the high tables - WRONG! It was very uncomfortable as you either had to eat standing up or steal someone’s seat! Please provide each of your guest a seat.

Absolutely yes! You cannot expect people to have to stand around while others eat, stand to eat, or eat at a table that’s already dirty. People will need somewhere to set their drink, jacket, purse, etc. Another thing to consider is that unless you are doing a seating chart of some sort, you will most likely need extra seating to ensure couples or families are able to sit together.

We recently went to a wedding where there were not enough tables and seats for everyone at the reception. It was awkward and we left soon after the reception started without eating. We didn't want to stand around awkwardly trying to eat and hold a drink. And of course if someone had a seat at a table they weren't going to give it up after they finished eating. They had a few high top tables and a few regular tables but not near enough for all the guests. If the buffet opens up, everyone will want to eat at the same time and everyone will need a seat. Otherwise people will end up leaving before the reception even gets started. It just makes everything super uncomfortable for your guests. Please have plenty of seats for all your guests.

Yes, everyone needs a seat! I have been to weddings where every guest did not have a seat and it is very tacky and rude.

Definitely get enough chairs for every person to sit at the same time

Definitely get enough seats. My work holiday parties are always like this... they assume not everyone will want to sit at once and they have like half the chairs for the amount of people that are there. It is soo uncomfortable and awkward. You always end up spending half the evening looking for a seat
