What do you mean about money saving way to do it? Wedding wire has a seating chart tool option on here. I’ve been using it so much and I love it. You have the opportunity of seating everyone where you’d want them and also a layout of how it’ll look. Theres the option or circle and rectangle tables. You can literally place everything on there, cake table , gift table, DJ booth to see how it’ll look. If you did use this option, you’d have to use a desktop or laptop.

We got this frame for $10 from marketplace, a $5 template from Etsy, and printed the cards ourselves. In total we spend less than $20 on our seating chart.Seating Charts 2

Did any of your guest have an issue with finding their name to get to their table? Did this create a lot of traffic with everyone trying to find their name?

Got this piece of wood from Walmart. I stained it a dark walnut color .. hot glued twine on it and bought mini clothes pins.. I have a cricut so that’s how I did the lettering but you could also paint it! I’m going to make the paper for the table numbers bigger so the paper on here was just a tester lol

Is the twine around the back as well or you end it on the sides?

It’s hot glued to the back .. the back isn’t the pretty but you won’t be able to see it.. If I ended it at the sides you would have been able to see the hot glue ! It was really easy and I think it came out beautiful

Nice! I really like this idea. I was considering doing our seating chart this way, but I thought about the logistics and I just don’t think it’ll work for us.

Well saving money that goes with how many ppl you will have attending. Now that I know of is bride and grooms immediate family will tables will be up front 1-4 and the rest mix them up so they will meet each other and chat and enjoy the rest of the reception

I was originally planning a seating chart because I like how it looks but decided on just escort cards to save time and money (we had about 45 people). Plus I didn’t want something large to toss out or figure out what to do with.

Ahh the seating chart was my favorite part and a exercise in strategy. I used Zola which was very helpful and strategically sat people according to their social networks and common interest. We used Etsy and had them printed out As pictured. Seating Charts 4

If you log into your account on a desktop or laptop, it’s under Planning Tools. Let me know if you still can’t find it.

An alternative idea: I used escort cards instead and displayed them on a table. You should be able to find templates on Etsy or with Staples.

Hi Michelle, When you did your escort cards were they just white with black writing? How did you do then?

Whatever option you go with just make you and someone else reads it over several times. At my brother's wedding my uncle came up to me in a panic because they were not on the seating chart. He thought maybe their rsvp got lost in the mail or something. I was like no they told me you guys were coming I m 98% sure you sitting at the family table turns out the names were just left off the chart but there was seats for them. It was not the best moment for a guest though. The seating stuff is what nightmares are made of for me. SO tricky.

Everything posted above seem like great low-cost options, I think it just depends whether you want to DIY something or buy something. Etsy has great options for either. I'm a cricut/crafting girlie whose motto is "I can probably figure out how to do that", lol, but you could go as simple as printing each list of names on white cardstock. Little things like ribbon, wax seals, and cute script can make anything seem fancier than it really is.

I think the ideas PP had were most cost effective where you print it out on your own and put it on a board. this is also great for if you need to make last minute changes!

i was lucky in that i had a friend at a print shop so they printed mine on a poster cardboard for me.

Ah, I was in love with my invitation suite and had them printed by Minted. Not the most cost effective, but a way for me to use my colors/ motif. But, I say there's no wrong way to do it. Handwriting is pretty (not mine). I, myself, didn't want a fancy seating chart to remind me my guest list dipped with covid worries. Plus, I didn't want crowding, so I decided sip and go in.
