Seating Charts

Marie, on February 4, 2018 at 9:04 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

We are at the point where all rsvp's are in and it is now time to work on the seating chart. Seating charts will be alphabetical but am looking for suggestions on how to have the calligrapher write out our guests names. When guests rsvp'd they accepted for them and a plus 1 but we do not have their plus 1's name. How did you all list them on the chart? Should we ask for their plus 1's name or write John Smith and Guest? Also, did you just write out names John and Mary Smith or Mr. and Mrs. Smith? Any suggestions are welcomed!

Are you able to get their names? We have RSVP's coming in and we're just asking "Hey we need the name of your date for the seating chart". If you aren't comfortable doing that I'd just do "guest of name" or "name's guest".

If you are only assigning tables, writing Mary Jones and Guest would be fine. If you are assigning seats, having the guest's name would be best.

As for married couples, I'd use their names whether you have assigned tables or seats. John Smith and Mary Smith. We had several couples with the same last name, so we had to use first and last names.

Just please write out SO names, they are not plus ones....laat summer we went to my FH cousins wedding. The cousins sister did all the invitations addressing and escort cards and everything said Mike and guest, and I was so insulted. We were together 3 years a time, and were already living together. I know it is stressed all the time, and she knew me, we have celebrated every major holiday with his extended family, make sure you know SO names.

I hear what you're saying and we're going to completely do actual names for SO's, but what about the guests we invited who are bringing a plus one as just a random friend or a date but they have not been seriously seeing each other for a time?

Try to get names, but if it is a true plus one, I would say guest of blank or blanks guest depends on formality of the wedding

My daughter is going to try and get names of all plus ones attending. Plus ones were extended to all single people, that is why she does not know their names. All couples that are in a relationship had both names listed on the invitations. Thanks everyone for responding.

If you do not have the name of the plus one I would just have the card written as Guest, Last of of person invited, such as Guest Doe.
