Best way to step up a seating chart so I dont lose my mind? Alphabetical?

Also, we're about a month away!!!! Any tips for me?

I have been having the same dilemma and FINALLY decided that I will be doing the seating chart alphabetically. I have found a template I really like off etsy and just purchased it! Hoping to have the seating chart finished next week and printed the following week!

I found this part rather easy!

We put all bridal party and their spouses/dates/families together at tables, we did a table for my immediate families, husbands immediate family, etc. Then we just put friend groups together, and families together, when we got down to the couples who don't know anyone else we sort of placed them with other random couples they may have things in common with. It took maybe 30 minutes and we actually started it before RSVPs so as RSVPs came in we could take people off and move them around as needed.

Alphabetical is my favorite way of going about it because it does make it a whole lot easier to find your name

We did the exact same thing - we first started by creating a seating chart as if everyone attended. When declined RSVPs came in, we took those guests off the chart but left the seats blank to let us know if we could rearrange them with other guests.

Table One and Two: bridal party and their guests

Table Three: parents, FHs grandparents, siblings

Table Four & Five: mix of our aunts, uncles, and cousins

    Table Six: my college friends

    Table Seven: his childhood friends

Tables Eight-Ten: various social circles and special guests

We exported our guest list into excel, then grouped people inside of excel. Once that was done I drew a layout of our venue on a huge post it, stuck it to a wall then listed each table of people on a small post it. I placed circle post it’s for the tables and we were able to move people and tables around. We did this for our rain plan too. (And made sure the table numbers were the right people in the right place for both plans). Then I dropped tables numbers next to each person in the excel spreadsheet. Then I sorted the columns alphabetically. I also kept the couples together and families together so instead of 133 lines of people we have 68. I hope that helps!!
