Seating chart

Shanee and Brian, on July 8, 2018 at 4:50 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8
I'm one week out, and I don't have time to do my original plan for the seating chart sign. I wanted to have a poster organized by last name, but I am having trouble finding the right tools to stand it up. If I have it printed, it's just on a thin sheet of photo paper.
I'd love to see suggestions, or what you did, or will be doing! Show it off! Pictures would be great.

Maybe you could frame the poster and stand it up with either a photo easel or art easel?
I purchased framed chalkboards to display our seating chart and they will be put up on easels. Didn't want to have to deal with little individual place cards myself.
    Good luck!

Try Michael's Crafts for a frame! We were there yesterday and we ended up getting the centerpieces I had wanted for 60% off! They had lots of large frames for chalkboard crafts and all of these frames sale http://www.michaels.com/frame-collections/home-collection/842495143?pmpt=qualifying&sz=24&start=0

Most venues will supply an easel for it to stand on. You can pop the poster in a frame, many discount stores sell big poster frames for cheaper. They are typically black, but you can diy with some spray paint. You could alternatively also glue it down on some foam board.

You can attach the printed sheet to foamcore with spray adhesive.

You could use escort cards instead. You print them off with each persons name and assigned table on a card, and arrange them alphabetically by last name. Easy peasy- done.

If you prefer a seating chart, instead of trying to have one chart for all the guests, bring it up into smaller pages. It's easier for your guests if you list the names alphabetically, then add the table a number after their name, rather than group the names for each table on one sheet.

You don't need a fancy frame. You can use a window, a mirror or even a piece of art as the background. Just use double sided tape or glue dots to attach the sheets of paper. Rather than have flimsy copy paper, print the lists on a heavier paper or use spray adhesive to attach it to a heavier weight paper.

Get one of those big collage frames and print your seating chart on multiple pieces of 4x6 paper.

I’m doing the mirror seating chart idea, just literally the mirror and a paint pen to write the tables and names on the mirror

Nailed it! I found a cork board on sale at Michael's. Covered it in sparkly toole so it doesn't look too rustic. I just printed the tables onto pink paper (thanks FMIL for letting me borrow the printer) and stuck that over sparkle scrapbook paper. Even got an easel and spray painted it silver. I'm stoked about this project. Love the final result. Glad Michael's had a sale and I could throw this together in time.

I was able to get a good deal on this frame too (that I can reuse later). So now I don't need to find a way to stand it up on poster board or something. This little easel (was black) was now spray painted white. Love it!
