Seating chart

Omg was this as torturous for anyone else as it was for me? Between divorces, food allergies, and my fiancé's EXTREMELY introverted family, it was a challenge! We had to assign specific seats due to allergies and a plated dinner. Whew! 😅🙇🏻‍♀️

I felt so relieved after our FH and I finished our seating chart! Our main issue was separating people we know do not get along, but it ended up being easier than I thought to do that.

I haven't gotten to our seating chart yet... Still waiting on RSVPS but I am a little worried about that as well. Any suggestions on things that helped you?

So I actually think that if you have the traditional round tables you'll have an easier time. We have 2 long tables (like medieval banquet style) so I had to make a smooth transition between groups. I separated my parents with a tables worth of people.

I made an excel spreadsheet with person's name, entrée and any allergies, and sent that to the caterer. Then I could literally drop names in. I sat couples across from each other but next to people they knew or with whom they'd get along.
Got it done in under and hour though. The spreadsheet really helped.

Yup. I think 12-15 feet of space with about 10 person buffer should suffice 🤣

That's great! How far out did you make your seating chart from the wedding?

We are doing rectangle tables that fit 10 so hopefully won't be too hard

Finished it 5 weeks out, lol. I chased people for RSVPs and made it a week later. February 29th!

My FH is telling me that I am overthinking the seating chart. But, we are in an interracial relationship and I keep saying "oh ummmmm we should probably mix that table up" lol then he has a lot of family members that cannot sit next to each other. He also invited his current employers and two managers from past jobs that he just keeps in contact with that he is uncomfortable sitting together. I have a few family members that do not speak English, so I have to make sure that they are at a table with people who speak that same language. I was also just thinking about just reserving 4 or 5 tables for our bridal party and their plus ones or families then just letting everyone else just sit wherever.
