Seating Chart

Blair, on May 14, 2021 at 10:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

Anyone else having a hard time getting their seating chart together? I'm trying to keep families together but sometimes it leaves me with like 2-4 empty seats at the table. The tables sit 8.

If your truly trying to sit only families together at tables, then you probably need to work backwards and count how many families you have and set up that many tables. Unfortunately, that’s going to mean some tables might have less than 8 seats/placesettings. So if you have the room for that, go for it! It might also mean adding additional centerpieces.

Perhaps, you also use a mix of different size tables. So that some tables seat 8, some seat 6 and others seat 4, etc

I'll have to ask my decorator if she can make that happen. I know my contracts says tables that sit 8 so I don't know if that's an option.

That's ok if all of your tables do not seat the full 8.

mine were tables of 10 and not all of them were packed until 10.

Okay, good! Long as there are not specials rules then I'm fine. People might appreciate the extra room.

My tables seat 10 and I'm having 5-8 per table to keep families together. To me, when I saw the tables set for 10 it seemed so cramped and I'm sure everyone would appreciate extra space, especially with covid! As mentioned, this will likely result in extra centerpieces needed, so keep that in mind if you have a tight budget

Our tables also seat 8 and I'll have anywhere from 6-8 at each table just to not make for any awkward settings where there's one un-related couple at the table.

I did the Guest Seating thingy on here but decided to give a list to my planner with the intentions of mixing everyone up so not just family sits together. I want that mingling effect.

You can find the Guest Seating thingy under the Planning option. Go to your Guest List and create tables for seating arrangements.

I've got tables seating 6 to 9 people. It just is the way it worked out. I thought 9 would be cramped, but it is the bridal party table and I wanted everyone to have their dates.
