That sounds like a lot, especially for something that is unlikely to be repurposed, but it's up to you what is in your budget. I spent about $10 for a pack of small tented Avery cards and used their free template to design and print escort cards from home.

I'm just spending the amount of a 10 pack of cardstock. I'm putting it on a cute corkboard my friend loaned me.

To me $900 sounds crazy for a seating chart. But, if this is an aspect of your wedding that is incredibly important to you, and it is easily within your budget, then I guess there’s no reason you shouldn’t do it. If it’s not incredibly important to you though, I would save the money and put it towards something more important or impactful to your wedding. Out of curiosity, do you have a picture of the seating chart? I would just love to see what a $900 seating chart looks like!

    Thank you !!!!Seating chart 1
It’s the concept of it . But we’re having a golf theme wedding . And it’ll be a wall built out of wood with a map course on it and then a wall attached to it that will have the names

That's something that people will look at once then forget about it once they're seated. I wouldn't pay that much for seating chart... but if your budget is massive, do what'll make you happy!

That is extremely expensive. If you must have a poster, get one made at Canva.com or the local FedEx/Staples. Be aware that you have to reprint from scratch anytime you need to move someone last minute or have a typo. The most economical is that is easiest on guests is card stock tent cards. You can buy them on Etsy that are blank or pay the vendor to customize or Staples to get print your own at home.

Tent cards are easier for guests because they are arranged alphabetically and they just grab and go. Posters (including mirrors and glass frames) are often done in small hard to read fonts and create traffic jams. Plus guests forget their assignments on the way to the tables if they get caught in conversations. Plus, for plated meals, the waitstaff must have some type of coding system to differentiate meal choices and colored card stock escort cards do double duty at a fraction of the price. They can be recycled later where a poster or frame cannot.

Well this is definitely unique! I’ve never seen anything similar to this at a wedding before.

Agreed! Extremely pricey and the constant reprints will be tedious. I was rearranging my seating chart up until the day of my wedding while traveling to the venue because we had such a last minute cancellation due to illness. Tent cards are the best way to go. Hubby and I did alphabetized escort cards and placement cards and they worked out just fine. Guests pay attention to it all of a second and forget about it. Guests will always remember the food, music and cake I say splurge on one of those instead.

If you absolutely love it, and it is within your budget (this being the most important), then go for it! It looks like a very unique and fun idea!

It’s a really fun and unique idea. But I would never spend that much. But, if your budget allows I really think it will look nice.
I printed mine at staples on specialty paper to match my invited and I made a cork board with wine corks (which added up). I think I spent less than $100.

I painted our seating chart myself and attached cardstock and photos. Probably $75?

It’s not crazy if you love it and it’s in your budget.
My rule of thumb for these budget questions was if I loved it, it was worthwhile to me…AS LONG AS I wasn’t compromising elsewhere on something more meaningful to guests. Which is to say a seating chart is cool, but my guests care more about what they’re eating than how to get to their seat. So, if I can have the cool seating chart and still provide the meal I want, then what the heck, I’ll splurge for the seating chart. But if I’m debating between downgrading from the filet to chuck roast to afford the seating chart, I’ll stick to the better beef and come up with a cheaper seating chart alternative.
But it’s your budget that matters here, not what anyone else thinks is expensive

I think as with anything wedding related, you have to decide what YOU think is worth spending more on and what maybe you're willing to compromise on. I personally would NOT spend that much for a seating chart. But for me something I was willing to spend more on was flowers because I wanted real flowers and not fake. Every person is different. If that seating chart completes your vision and it's something you really want and can afford, go for it!!! If not, I am certain you can find something similar for way less.

Okay WHAT? Are you rich? If so - that is crazy but you do you.
If not - Don’t spend anything lol. You can just hand make placecards or assign numbers and send them through text. Alternatively, just order a 10$ sign
