Seating Chart, ugh! I have so many odd numbers. What do I do?

Stacy, on July 21, 2013 at 10:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

I have families that have an odd number of people in them. I can't figure out how to put them at tables that seat 8. I always seem to be over one or under one seat. How did you seat the families with an odd number of people?

I have about a couple months till I do that, but I have been "planning" the seating chart, like doing examples, but let's say I have a family of 6 and 2 chairs left, I'm putting 2 friends that know the family. I'm sitting 10 people per table. I hope that made sense.

Depends, do you *have* to fill those tables? Or can you maybe have tables of 7 and 9 instead of set firmly at 8?

I know with my seating chart I've been a little flexible with the numbers to better accommodate everyone.

Wendy's right, it happens ALL the time. Just run it by your particular venue,

Not something you need to stress out about. I had some tables of 7, some of 8, 9... It's fine. Plus, if you want and think they'll be cool with it, you can break up a family. I did that for my 20-something cousins since I knew they'd be down with meeting other people and might have more fun w/o sitting w/ their parents.
