Hi all! Looking for some feedback on seating - specifically seating charts, place cards, and escort cards, and what everyone else is doing. (Seems like such a silly thing to ask about, haha.) Originally, I planned to do a seating chart that listed everyone in alphabetical order telling them their assigned table, and then escort cards at each table telling them their assigned seat. Our venue contact said it’s doable, but that she thinks escort cards are unnecessary. She recommended we either do a seating chart or place cards indicating table number, and letting people choose their own seats at their designated table. So now I’m debating it and looking for input from others on what they did. What’s your plan? Or, if you’re already married, what did you do and did you like it? Thanks in advance!

I think it's rude to tell people which seat to sit in. Just my opinion. UNLESS it's a very small wedding where it's more of a dinner party or something and you're all sitting on one large table. I've been to over 20 formal weddings in my life never ever assigned seat. Just table. Some people like to pick their seat based on if they want to be farther from the speaker if they have sensory issues.. look at the dancefloor .. not look. Maybe they want to sit next to a certain person at their table. Let them choose their fun and enjoyment.
