seating chart max 35 people - round or rectangular tables?

Hi, so we are doing a small wedding with a max of 35 guests ( bride & groom sitting at their own table ) I've been going back and forth about how to set up the seating chart. we can either do, 4 round tables or two long rectangular tables. The only issue is my family is 7 seats and FH's family is 4 seats. I would love to sit them all at the same table however I feel weird because mine only speaks English and his only speaks Polish, hence the wanting to do to rectangular tables so it's not so overwhelming. What do you think would be best?

Second question is, if I do rectangular tables do I seat couples next to each other or across from each other? I would prefer across from each other so they have to mingle with others next to each other, thoughts?

I prefer round tables, but I think rectangular works better in your case.
You don't have to assign seats, but I would do couples next to each other if you do. I don't think it's a big deal if you choose to do it the other way, but as a guest I would expect to be next to FH, but wouldn't think much of it. What bothers me here is your reasoning for seating couples across from each other. Adults are adults...they know how to meet and engage with other people without your influence. Your guests aren't children who need a little push to make friends

Ugh holy run-on, but I'm on mobile and can't edit. It should say: I don't think it's a big deal if you choose to do it the other way, but as a guest I would expect to be seated next to FH"
