Seating Chart Changes

Allison, on October 23, 2020 at 1:53 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 5

So after we got all our RSVPs in we created a seating chart and waited about a week before ordering it (foam poster board from VistaPrint). About two weeks ago we had some changes that didn't affect the number of tables just who was at the tables/ how many people at a given table. So we ordered a new one that comes today. The wedding is in two weeks and we have received lots of changed answers to Nos in a way that reduces the number of tables and number of chairs that we are paying to have upgraded, but not enough time to order a new poster. Any fun creative ways to put up the one we have and let guests know that they are at a different table? I don't really want to write on the poster with something permanent for picture purposes. Thanks in advance!!

I wish I could help you, but I decided to assigned tables for my wedding.
For example, every table will have a sign that either says:

"Reserved for the Bride's Family and their Friends"

"Reserved for the Groom's Family and their Friends"

"Reserved for the Bride & Groom's Friends"

I did it that way, since I knew I didn't wanna go through the hassle of that, since I know there'll be a lot of changes to the guest list willy nilly.

Can you can do place cards instead? With names and assigned tables.

This is one of the reasons I prefer escort cards. If you have to make last minute changes, you can just change whatever needs changing. I bought a pack of tented Avery cards for about $10 and printed them at home using a free template on avery.com. Would that be something you would consider?

I would probably just do a free escort card template instead like Hannah did. I hope it works out for you.
