Seating Chart and where to put kids

Hannah, on March 17, 2022 at 3:25 PM Posted in Planning 16 4

I was looking to see what to do about my seating chart, I have many family members with children under the age of 2 when the wedding comes. When I am creating the Seating Chart should i give them their own seat at the table. My SIL will have a little that will turn 1 the week before the wedding so just not sure for them. I have 3 in total that are under the age of 2. They arent gonna be in a chair obviously but that I am aware of my venue does not have a high chair available.

I would reach out and ask their parents if they want a regular chair there, or an empty space so they can out a stroller or something. Different parents may have different preferences.

I agree with Jasmine that you should reach out to the parents to see what they prefer. I would also reach out to your venue and confirm whether or not they have high chairs. Regardless, the child will need a space at the table, whether at a high chair, in a stroller, or in a carrier placed on a regular chair. Therefore, you should still include them in the seating chart as a person taking up a portion of table space.

Also, I see that your wedding isn't until October. I wouldn't go crazy with the seating chart until RSVPs come back. Some of these people may opt to leave the little ones at home.

Our venue doesn’t have them as well as all of the littles will be attending 100% so that’s as gonna be my next step was going to be asking them which I think is better then trying to guess probably 😂

If your venue doesn’t have high chairs, look into renting some. I had one baby In attendance at my wedding and I asked mom if she wanted a high chair. She said no, so I didn’t get one. Day of they were looking around asking me where one was. Otherwise definitely ask the parents what their preference is.
