Seating chart and menu choices

We are not doing a seating chart, we are using escort cards (same information as a seating chart). Guests are picking them up from a table during cocktail hour and the escort cards will have their meal choices on them. We will not have place cards at the table, so everyone can sit where they want at their specific table. I don’t know if I have ever seen a seating chart with meal choices, but I’d be interested to see if others have.

It’s possible, but not sure if it’ll be enough room. For something easier, you could maybe put an animal next to their name to make it easier and use up less space. For example, if you’re having chicken, pork & shrimp. You can use a chicken, pig & a shrimp next to their name to indicate their food option. Hope this makes sense.

The wait staff won’t be looking at the seating chart to know who gets which meal. Which is why so many caterers and coordinators recommend using escort cards instead using solid colored card stock to tell them apart. You can buy them blank on Etsy . Also escort cards are easier on guests because they can find their name quickly, grab and go. They are cheaper and easier for you to make last minute changes or fix typos instead of paying full price each time you reprint the chart or have to start from scratch on new mirrors.
