Seating and Table Size

Ella, on January 14, 2018 at 2:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

I am having difficultly deciding between 48 inch or 60 inch round tables. I want the guests to be comfortable and seated with people they enjoy. They say the 48 inch tables seat 6-8, and the 60 inch seat 8-10. I also read that 60 inch tables can make conversations difficult due to their size, is this true? What are your experiences?

I had 60in rounds with 8 people per table and it worked out great. No one was cramped but they didn't have any issue conversing either.

60" rounds are pretty standard at weddings. Most people's voices can be heard 5 feet across a table.

Always go with the lesser number of guests at each size table, if you possibly can.

I have 48” tables due to the venue size restrictions (it’s a boat). The venue says up to 8 but I’m aiming at 6 & 7 would be absolute max. 60” can hold 10 but that’s literally the place settings & chairs touching one another. I’d do 8 people at the 60”. It’s comfortable and people can still talk.

I am renting twenty 72" tables, and placing 10 to 12 at each table. We were at a wedding with that table size, and the conversations were still really easy to go along with.
