Seat Assignment/favor

Tracy, on April 6, 2018 at 3:53 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 12

We have limited space in which to set up our décor, seating chart, favors, etc. I was thinking about combining the seat assignment and wedding favor. We're doing individually boxed s'mores and I was thinking about adding a tag with their name and table number. Has anyone ever combined these before? Pros/Cons? TIA

I did not do this, but I've been to a couple weddings that did. As a guest I encountered no problems with it and it seemed to work well!

I think it would work well and at least you would know every guest had a favor rather than just setting them out somewhere. Plus, I think having the smores kit out as a way for them to find their seat is creative and kills two birds with one stone. I can't see this being a problem. Worst case scenario, the guest takes their favor, finds their seat, and then just leaves it at the table at the end of the night if they really don't want it.

    It's a good idea since you're limited on space 💡 😊

I did this. I attached name tags with table numbers to deer shaped lollipops in "adult" flavors like honey, maple, black cherry, etc. The pops were arranged in stands in alpha order (you need to do this so people can find their names quickly). We had deer since my husband's last name is deer (spelled differently). No one left the pops behind.

Yes we did this. We personalized ornaments for our guests and combined those with their table number assignment. I think it is a great idea especially when you are limited on space.

We did this (little 50ml beakers with each person's name and table assignment written on the outside, and a little bag of jordan/chocolate almonds on the inside) and it worked out perfectly. I loved the fact that even if people didn't bring their beaker home at the end of the night, they had at least served their purpose as escort "cards" so it didn't feel as wasteful.

It's not uncommon to have the escort card do double duty as the favor. Just make sure to arrange them alphabetically by last name. If you have a large guest list, separate the escort cards in 2 or 3 groups so people can get near the display to find their card.

That’s what I’m planning to do too. Attaching the table numbers onto the favors.
