Does anyone know how much alterations run? I’m wondering how much money I would save in alterations with the dress that is more simple in the front?

I love the more simple front, but it is significantly more money than the one with flowers in front ($800) Although, wondering once I pay for alterations if they would be comparable in price 🤔
Any info would be helpful!

It would really depend on what kind of alternations are needed. Generally speaking though, lace dresses tend to cost more to alter because the lace has to be removed and resewn.

And for what it’s worth, the first dress (the simpler one) looks stunning on you!!!

Thank you for the info 🥹 the more simple one is the one I love, but it is about $800 more.
I’m wondering if the alterations on the simple one would be minimal, therefore cost would equal out to about the same as the other dress pictured after alterations.

That seems high. I found a woman on our local Facebook group by searching “seamstress”.
She is retired and doing this part time and charged me a very low amount of $200 to do several changes.
She did fabulous work too. Try someone like this rather than a chain or store recommended one.

You look absolutely stunning in the crepe gown!!

Your hem will be cheaper to do in the crepe gown as there is no lace or beading to remove and resew.

It is all based on complexity, but also if you need multiple things done, those services add up. The hem was by far the most expensive alteration on my dress, double or even triple the cost of the others. It’ll also depend on your market, if course, but my hem that required the removal of each individual ruffle in the FL Panhandle was $167. Everything else (shortening straps, taking sides, etc) was like 50-70.
