Seals on invitations??????

Mrs. Noble, on January 6, 2013 at 10:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Where did you put seals and stuff? Do they go on closure of the actual invitation, or the inner envelope, or outer? Haha, I don't know. Please help!

Every time I have used a seal (graduation invitations etc) and have received wedding, baptism, graduation invitations the seal has always been on the other envelope

And so the return address goes where? front left corner or center top back? and inner envelope is not sealed, glued or licked shut... right?

I didn't do an inner envelope, we had pocketfold invitations. This is a photo of the actual invitation (what they got when they opened the first envelope). It had a belly band around it and that seal on it, then when opened it had the inserts. It was in a dark purple envelope with the return address on the center, back.

Inner envelope are usually not sealed/licked/glued when they are just a normal lined envelope (not a pocket fold) BUT, I agree, I have seen Graduation announcements with the seals on the inner envelope. So, I guess it is up to you.

Pocket folds can be "held shut" with a belly band like Amber Z's example.

I personally like how the return address looks on the center of the back flap over the front of the envelope.

    * But with the envelope seals being the same design (and so close in location) it might be too much to have them both on the back. Do your return labels on the front and seal on the outer envelope? Or return address center back and seal on the inner?

So, your blue pocket fold envelopes are going inside something? They are cute! Love the bicycle!
