Seal and Send wedding invitations

Eryanne, on March 3, 2016 at 10:55 AM Posted in Planning 0 11

Invitations by Dawn is having a sale on wedding invites right now and I came across these seal and send invites. It's an interesting concept. They feature a perforated response card printed with your return address on one side and your response wording on the other. Guests fill out the card, remove it and return it to you. You can also include info like wedding website and registry on the card - its essentially one long card that folds up neatly into the envelope without having to use inserts. Has anyone used anything like this? Thoughts? Opinions?

Huh interesting....I'm trying to picture how this works - do you have pictures of the invitations?

My first thought is you don't want to include registry info on your invitations. Also, It seems less like a formal wedding invitation and more like a direct mail piece.

The only negative thing I've heard about them is that they can get damaged easily, since they are not protected by an envelope. Just something to think about

Ah ok...I understand now Smiley smile

I personally like receiving invitations with inserts and I think this would be a bit difficult to put on my fridge (I always put invites up there so I don't forget about the weddings!). Also, like @Britt said - you shouldn't put registry info on your invitations!

With the exception of possible damage to the response card, it sounds like a great idea. Maybe they should make the response cards more like postcards and that would resolve the damage issue.

Yeah I like hanging stuff on my fridge as well so that was my thought too, they might be too big and bulky. I'd never seen anything like them before and I don't think I will end up going with something like this, but I am definitely curious to see how (and if) other people used them, and how they worked out.

I just send out seal and sends for our wedding and the people who have recd them give them rave reviews. They feel they are original and creative. Also, they are often cheaper than adding all of the additional inserts and no envelopes. I pd 150 for 125 invites from Davids bridal. I highly recommend them.

I love the idea (and the price!) But since they don't come with accomodation cards and reception cards we are going the traditional route.

A friend of mine did something similar and they were adorable! The response card was just a postcard that you tore off the end though. We thought about doing the same thing, but in the end went with a more traditional invitation.
