Scarecrow Cake Topper

Jessica, on June 15, 2009 at 11:53 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

My FH and I are having an autumn themed wedding and he would really love for us to find little bride and groom scarecrows to use as a cake topper. I have been scouring the internet, and can't find a thing! We don't want figurines, but ones made out of straw or husk with actual clothing. I don't mind having to re-dress them in wedding garb, if need be. Can anyone help?! Thanks!

I would suggest going to etsy.com and make a request for two scarecrow figures. Not sure if you are familiar with etsy, but it has an alchemy feature where you can request an item to be made. Sellers then bid to make what you want (to my understanding. I haven't actually used it).

Here is something I found on etsy. Is this kinda what you are looking for?

If you plan to redress them anyway why dont you just buy the clothes, make heads out of some old sock with paint and make them yourself. It sould be rather easy and if you put popsicle sticks in the legs or up the back to make them stand up you should have no problem.

Fall decor will be in the craft stores well before your wedding. I would look for something at Michael's Craft Store or some similar business. I imagine you will have to come up with a way to make them bridal on your own. Sounds super cute! Have you mentioned this to your cake maker...they have their own sources, too.

I don't know what your budget is, but there are several great balloon artists that make incredible miniture sculptures from uninflated balloons. Copy and past the link below into your browser, it is an example of a Cinderella themed piece, but somehting similar can be done in any theme and would make an incredible and unique cake topper and keepsake that will last forever.
