Scammed by Bridal Registry division of SCD

Yvette, on March 22, 2014 at 7:09 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 9

My fiance and I had the unfortunate experience of being scammed by Brandon M. from the Bridal Registry division of SCD (Superior Culinary Design.) We were promised an all inclusive honeymoon for 3 days and 2 nights for sitting through a Townwwcraft cookware presentation on February 9, 2014 in Tampa, FL at the Courtyard Tampa hotel. We literally bought into his lie that if we purchased some of the cookware that day, our free honeymoon would then by upgraded to 5 days and 4 nights. Being pressed for cash, this was too good to be true and we signed up. We have been told that it is in the mail for over a month now.

Please do not waste your time or money with these companies:

-Bridal Registry of SCD (Superior Culinary Design)

-Townecraft

Did you call and let them know? We purchased some pots also through Bridal reg.but in NY and the travel voucher got lost in the mail. We called and got a new one within 3 days.

I have called my rep and text him for weeks. He is blatantly ignoring me now an won't return my phone calls or texts.

The group I got scammed by was based in Gallatin, TN. I live in Florida so I am guessing they have multiple victims in a few states. Glad the Bridal Registry in NY seems to have their act together.

I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB. Apparently both companies have several complaints with the BBB.

NGL, I want their cookware something fierce. I have a couple of free vacations from them.

I started getting scammy calls from Dinner 4 Two - David's Bridal sold my information to them after I made an appointment with them to look at BM dresses. It is well known that David's Bridal sells your information like crazy. We had to threaten Dinner 4 Two over the phone about filing a complaint because they would not stop calling about a "bridal package" we had won. It was one of those cooking demos BS. We did not go.

My FH and I also sat through the cooking presentation to get the hotel prize or ring bands and we went in knowing we wouldn't buy anything and the guy got super aggressive trying to make us buy the darn pots and pans. When we asked if we could just take the catalog and decide later (still trying to nicely leave) the guy said "it's just pictures, you can't take it." It's like he didn't want to leave anything behind. I'm really sorry this happened to you. They're under a different name in CA.

I got the same calls that GreyCatVintage did. We never went to the demo because we did not want any of the prizes and knew it was a scam after they said at the bridal show for coming to the booth I got free toasting flutes and realized they were not in the bag when I got home. So when they called and said to get them I had to pay shipping I said no way.

Girl it's a WHOLE scam! We recently went to a small wedding expo in VA and we only filled out our info for David's Bridal (because it's a known name). BIG MISTAKE! They basically sold our information to this Bridal Registry place. They sent me an email and test stating they we had been chosen and had won 2 champagne flutes, a honeymoon accommodation, and a $600 gift card for wedding bands. Upon hearing this, I was immediately intrigued. But something told me to dig some investigation first. That's when I came across similar stories. I texted the number back and asked if this was some type of timeshare or demo that we have to sit through. The person became nasty starting that she didnt have time to answer my nonsense questions and that someone much more deserving could take our place. Crazy asf!
