My FH and I just had our engagement photos this morning. He thinks we should sent out the STDs in December (wedding is 10/3/20) I personally feel like it’s a little too early and thought February is a little better just because it’s not 10 months out. He doesn’t have distant family to send them to in case they need to make arrangements but I do. Do I send those out in December just to give them a while to plan, send them all out in December or just do them all in February?

    I would say wait until after the beginning of the year once everyone has had a chance to get over the holidays. 10-11 months out is perfectly fine for a save the date.

    I would do them all in december if ur planning sending any out at all then, wouldnt want anyone thinking they arent invited because of not getting a save the date

    I would definitely say wait until after the holidays are over so, people can have it fresh in their minds after they’ve processed the holiday rush. The only way I’d say go for December is if you plan on sending a holiday style STD that acknowledges the holiday season too.

    I did mine in December 2018 (Christmas cards) for my November 2019 wedding, but I ended up having to send out new ones in February 2019 because we had to change the date! So I don’t think it’s too early, but make sure you’re 100% on the date/location before you do!

    We're sending out STD's soon for our 10/10/20 wedding. We're getting married in a college town where football is a BIG deal... on gameday. 95% of the guests will have to make accommodations and this towns hotels commonly book up a year in advance. We're going to write something on the STD about booking earlier rather than later...
