Save the dates

Jenna, on May 29, 2020 at 6:08 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
Hi ladies,
We just got engaged and our wedding is November 1. What would y’all do about save the dates? I’ve read they’re typically sent six months prior to the wedding but out wedding is in four months! Thanks!

If your wedding is Nov. 1st its about 6 months away. You can send them now or just send out invites a little earlier.

I agree with Lena. If you have a wedding website I would include it on the invite. With this pandemic, weddings have been postponed (like mine 🙄) & if you have to change your date for any reason, you won’t have to send out new invitations. You can just update your website with any changes. Congrats to you and I wish you all the best! 😊

Unless you’re having a destination wedding, lots of out of town guests, or a weekday wedding, I would skip the save the dates.

Save the dates are typically send 6-8 months before the wedding. You are already at the 6 month mark. If you have not already ordered them, and don't have a lot of out of town guests, I would skip save the dates. Invitations are typically sent 6-8 weeks before your wedding.

It's totally your call Jenna! You could send out save the dates ASAP or skip them completely (it might be too much time, stress, and money by the time they reach your guests)!

You could also share your wedding date with your VIPs (close family & wedding party) informally to make sure they save your date by just calling or emailing! Smiley heart

Skip them and send out invites at 8 weeks from your date.

I wouldn't skip them, personally. I'd do it as soon as you can, though.

If you skip them just let everyone know via text and word of mouth.
