Our wedding is next June - 90% of people will need to travel in for our wedding. Is sending out our STDs in mid-August too early? There’s so many weddings next year, I want to get them out a bit earlier for this reason too!

I think sending them mid August would be fine - especially because there's so many people traveling to your wedding, that would give plenty of notice for them to begin looking into travel arrangements, etc. And also because like you mentioned, there are going to be a lot of weddings next year!

I think that would be fine. With many people postponing weddings, you could let people know early kind’ve like calling dibs lol

I think that’s perfect timing. I heard 8-10 months is appropriate.

Personally, I’d wait till the earliest October. We sent our STDs this past March for our October wedding. I’m glad we did that because it gave our guests something positive to look forward to amidst Covid (We were going to send them just after the holidays and postponed). If you send them too early they will get lost and forgotten about.

If most people need to travel then I think August is the right time to send them. Maybe do magnet save the dares so they can put them on the fridge and it won’t get lost. We sent ours in April for our March 2021 wedding because everyone has to travel.

We sent ours in December 2019 for our August 2020 wedding, but in June 2020 for our July 2021 wedding. We did that mostly because people would've been expecting invitations from us, but I don't think it was too early, especially because there are so many weddings next year. I always recommend magnets, because they're less likely to get lost!
If you need a recommendation on where to get them, I loved ours from Shutterfly and they had great customer service.

I think that would be fine not too early at all. Gives everyone a heads up and time to plan accordingly.

It's common to send them out 6-12 months ahead so guests can make arrangements (schedule time off, save up and schedule travel plans). Make sure that your guest list is finalized because you can't uninvite anyone once they are dropped into the mail.

I started sending ours out last week for our October 2021 wedding. I was going to try and wait until a year out, but with 2020 weddings being postponed for next year I wanted to get the word out early.

9-12 months ahead of time is typical if most of the guests have to travel. I’ve noticed that a lot of online stuff says 12 months out, so you’d be totally fine to send them in August!
