Save the dates

When are/did you send your save the dates? Wedding is 2 hours away from our home state in the Poconos and we have family all over the place, so would you consider that a “destination wedding”?

Yes I would consider it a destination wedding if most people will have to travel to it! I would send them around 8-10 months before the wedding personally

Anywhere from 8 to 12 months is probably OK. I sent mine a year before since a lot of my relatives will need to come via airplane. If you do it more than a year out, people might lose the cards or forget the date.

I'm getting married September 2, 2022, its not a destination wedding but because its the Friday of Labor Day Weekend, I want to ensure people don't make plans/ know our wedding is on a holiday weekend since I know a lot of people plan vacations for that weekend. I am sending my STD's this week to ensure people know our plans!

I agree with other posters, you should try to send them 8-10 months in advance. We sent ours 9 months in advance, because although our wedding is in the city where we live, the majority of our guests are coming from far away and will need to fly and book hotel rooms.

I have a similar situation, we're also Sept 2022 and half our guests are in different states and will be flying in, and the other half are at least an hour away. We're sending save the dates in Mid January 2022 just so they dont get lost or mixed up with holiday cards.
