Save the dates

Preveisha, on June 27, 2019 at 3:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
When is a good time to send out my save the dates and invitations since my wedding is the day before 4th of July of next year. My FH and I will be traveling to NC along with other family members that leave out of town for our wedding. Will August be to early to send out our save the dates for those that live out of state and its a holiday weekend?

You can typically send out save the dates anywhere from 3-6 months before the wedding and the invitations 4-12 weeks before the wedding. Are you having a destination wedding or getting married during the weekday? For that, I would send everything out a little earlier.

We live in Florida but our wedding is in NC. That’s where we’re from but we both have family coming in from out of town other than the ones that live in NC. Would August be fine?

Typically, STDs go out 8-12 months before the wedding. So I think Mid-end of August 2019 for a July 2020 wedding would be great, especially to give your guests the extra time to prepare to travel over a holiday.

Hello! We are getting married the day after you, on July 4th 2020. We are planning on sending out the STDs late July/early August since we have many people coming from out of town and it will be a holiday weekend.

I would collect addresses now even if you don't send the STDs for a month or more. It could take time.

I'd send them out 10-12 months out since it's a holiday weekend and you have a lot of out of state guests.

I think that’s fine! My wedding is Labor Day weekend next year and I have a lot of out of state guests. I’m sending mine out about a year in advance since so many people are traveling plus it’s a holiday weekend.

Sending out save the dates for the planned timeline you had would be perfect then. A weekday wedding and family traveling would need more of a notice than typical. Sending them out in late August early September sounds great!

Definitely recommend 9-12 months from the wedding date, especially if you have out of town guests. You want to give people a chance to take off from work if necessary, ensure that they'll be ok financially, etc. It's just respectful to give people decent notice.
