Save the dates to collect info

Adwoa, on June 29, 2019 at 8:49 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
I want to send electronic save the dates so that I can collect peoples physical addresses to mail them invitations. I would also like to include somewhere for people to provide me the name of their plus ones. Anyone have a suggestion for a good website for save the dates that has the functionality I’m looking for?

I'm not sure you'll find a place to do this as that's not really the purpose of save the dates. There are services like Postable that you can use to collect addresses, but that's different from a STD. Also most people aren't going to know the name of their plus ones 14 months before your wedding.

I think this is a great idea, though I have no clue where you would do that.

You can't really collect names of plus ones until your RSVPs are returned anyway. You don't need plus one's names until you're working on escort cards or a seating chart. At that point, most of your guests should have (hopefully) filled their plus one's names in on the RSVP card, then you would follow up with the few that you don't have a name for. It shouldn't be too difficult to reach out to a few of your friends or family members.

Paperlesspost.com! That's what I used for save the dates. I was able to collect some addresses using the website. The names though, can't collect those unless you ask them yourself or until they send back RSVPs.

The Knot has the best address collection link. You can customize your link with a photo of your choice and a personal message. You can send your link in an email, text, on your wedding website, in a FB Messenger message, or anywhere you want to put the link so people can follow it to fill out their address.
Collecting plus one info is best left for your formal invitation RSVPs. Relationships and situations change over time. Plus one info you get from people now may not be accurate when your wedding date gets closer.

By the way: The Knot’s address collection feature also allows you to download your address list in a CSV format that you can send directly to Avery printing online. Avery will print mailing address labels on clear or white label paper, with your choice of font. Easier and more efficient than writing them yourself! Just peel and stick.
