Save The Dates/ Room Block info

Christy, on September 15, 2017 at 9:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

So wondering if any of you ladies know this answer but when do the room information for your out of town guests go out? Do we included the room block information in the save the date envelopes? or when we send out the wedding invitations?

I would assume giving more time for people to plan and save would be more appropriate, especially since we have guests flying in from Ireland.

What's the protocol here?

Following. We just sent out STDs but didn't send any of the hotel information. We figured we would contact our VIPs coming from OOT and give them the information for the room blocks so they could book rooms when they are ready. We are sending an information card with room block info with the invitations.

I was planning to put it on my website which will be listed on my STD and put more info as an inclusion in my invitation. But I spoke with the hotel manager yesterday and our room block releases back to the public 60 days prior to the wedding so now I'm planning to put an inclusion card with my STD as well as on my website. Bc if I wait until the invites to give the hotel info, it won't leave very much time for guests to book before the block is released.

We did postcard STDs and we provided the hotel information for them. Only one person booked before the invitations went out but I did like the idea

We put ours on our STDs because both of our families and the majority of our guest are OOT. However, I still had to chase them down even after the invites went out to book their room because the block was expiring. I'd say it was half and half who booked the rooms before, and who booked them after our invites went out.

Our daughter plans to put her room block information on their STD's. We have until 30 days to book our rooms, so we want guests to have plenty of time to do so.

We talked to some of the hotels in the area the last time we visited our venue just to get an idea of basic pricing and if they do courtesy blocks or not. We were told we could not secure a room block until about february for september.

We decided to do the wedding website on our STD's which will have "Check back in March 2018" under the travel and accommodations page. That way people at least know where to go and when

Hi guys, looking some help regarding this! so my venue has a limited amount of space, wedding night we have a block of 55 rooms, minimum of 150 guests but half my guest count is local and half this will be a destination wedding. I have two STDs going out, as one is a boarding pass for our destination guests and a normal one for my family and friends in Ireland that are local. the Ireland STDs, are going out around 4 weeks after my USA. As I have someone traveling over to me on holidays so they are going to travel back to Ireland with them after their holiday so they don't get lost in transit.

we have a room block available, but obviously want our VIPS to have first dibs. I'm sending out my save the dates soon in USA to give them 12 months advancements. and I am unsure on how to go about this? do I only include a small added card with room block information for family and bridal party first? then give the rest of the guests the information? or should I contact these people prior to STD, and then include all the room information for all guests traveling.
