Hi everyone. I am sending out Save the Dates soon for my wedding that is taking place during spring of next year. Do I include RSVP’s on the save the date or is that for the formal invitation only? Help!!!!

Formal invitation only. Invitations should go out 6-8 weeks before wedding. You can send out wedding website/hotel information now though.

Invite only. STDs are only meant to announce your upcoming marriage, so people know to save that date. The formal invitation that follows later on will have all of the wedding details, and that is what people RSVP to.

RSVPs go with the invitation. Save the dates are just letting guests know that they will be invited to an event on x date so that they can plan around it.

RSVP only go with the invite. However, if you wanted to you could include the wedding website on the Save the Date & allow guests to RSVP on the website. I did this, and received about 15x RSVP before the invites were ever sent out.
