Save-the-Dates for vow renewal?

AllisaurusRex, on July 17, 2011 at 12:05 PM Posted in Planning 1 6

So, we are already married. Did the courthouse deal when I was 8 months pregnant due to severe complications I was having. There was less than a week's notice so we only informed our nearest and dearest, and only a handful of those we told actually made it. It was decided before we even did it that we would have a vow renewal and reception as soon as we could afford it for our families and friends to be able to celebrate with us.

So our original plan was to send out marriage announcements combined with save-the-dates for the renewal, but almost everyone already knows that we are married and that we are doing the renewal sometime next year (most of the people we spoke to directly actually asked if we planned to do something like that, and when).

So I'm wondering if we should still send out STDs, and whether or not we should still incorporate marriage announcements into them? And any wording ideas would be helpful too! Thanks!

Thanks ladies! Hayley, I tweaked your suggestion and this is what I've come up with:

    Bride Maiden & Groom Last

were wed in a private ceremony

    on Wedding Date

Kindly save the date to join them

as they renew their wedding vows

    on Renewal Date

    Invitation to follow

    www.OurWebsite.com

I decided to put my maiden name 1) because when I googled "marriage announcements" that's what they all said and 2) because my side of the family probably won't recognize my married name, or remember my husband's first name to put 2 and 2 together haha. I will put my married name on the formal invites though.

If you are doing the inviting... use "as we renew our wedding vows"

    Keep your pronouns consistent.
