Save the Dates!? August 2021 Bride

Lauren, on October 2, 2020 at 12:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

Hey August 2021 brides!! When do you plan to send out your save the dates? I was going to try to give myself until end of October/mid November deadline. With it being a wedding in the summer... I think it's probably smart to get them out earlier than later for guests that book vacations way in advance! Smiley smile Thoughts!?

I usually get invitations about 6 months ahead. Especially because people book vacation 2-6 months ahead in general. I can imagine how many people are traveling once covid precautions are being lifted. tenor.gif

I think sending them out around November would be a good idea! Especially with so many people postponing to 2021, better to get the date on everyone's calendars now.

Personally, I’d wait until after the holidays and especially after the election. Don’t risk getting messed up and getting lost with all the mail-in voting out there, and you can start the new year with a fresh outlook and ready to rock n' roll with lots planning. 8-6 months is plenty of time, anything sooner I think is too early.

I would also wait until after the holidays. People usually don’t plan vacations that far out especially because of covid I would send them out January which is still 8 months out.

I am sending mine out at the beginning of December, but ours will double as Christmas cards. With so many weddings being rescheduled to next year we are getting them out early so we can be on peoples calendars early.

Yes, that was one of my thoughts as well for sending them out early. Our guest list is increasing as time goes on... so maybe best for me to send in January.

Yes I need to find a photographer. Our photographer for our wedding is from Boston a family friend so he can’t take them for us.

We don't have a large guest list to begin with so that wasn't a big concern for us. So I found a really cute Christmas card save the date template on Etsy and that is what we are using!

Im July 2021 and I just picked up my std yesterday! Im having an address party at my house with moms and bridesmaids and then hoping to drop them off at post office on Halloween.

With it being in the summer people plan for vacations and covid alot of things/events have moved this year to next. I was told 6-8months out. I also have some family from other states.

I was actually wondering the same thing. We just ordered our save the dates and should be recieving them next week but also haven't figured when to send them out. Thats a really good point that people book summer vacations in advance, I hadn't really thought of that. I think doing it by January is good.

We are doing our engagement pictures next week so once we get those back, we will send out the Save the Dates.

I would send them out as soon as you know your date/location. Our wedding date is July 2021 and we sent ours (electronically to save money!) in July of this year. I was worried about all the weddings getting rescheduled to next year.

I was wondering the same thing. I think I might wait to send them out in December since it’ll be after the election and I was hoping to avoid any potential mailing issues like someone else had mentioned. But I think anytime from November-January would work well!

I sent ours in early January for our 8/7/20 date and plan to send them again this January due to our postponement to 8/6/21. I second what everyone is saying about waiting until after the holidays.

Yes!! Personally, we have booked vacation houses for the following summers in October/November! So it definitely has me worried! I'm going to shoot for mid-November! After the election and before December when Christmas craziness really starts! Smiley smile
