Save the Dates and Pictures

Ashley, on January 13, 2020 at 10:50 AM Posted in Planning 0 9

I am STRESSED!

We just got engaged on December 26th and are getting married September 5th, 2020. So far, planning has been a breeze. But the rest of this month and February are completely booked with dress shopping, wedding shows, and family obligations. Plus, we live in Maine, so weather plays a role in everything this time of year.

I want to get our Save the Dates out ASAP since it's a holiday weekend wedding, and we have a decent amount of guests who will be traveling from other parts of the state and from outside of the state. We have no time to get pictures done until the second weekend of March. FH has planned THREE weekend-long ice fishing trips in the next two months on top of everything else we have and I'm slightly annoyed because he knows we need to get these done. I could ask him cancel one of these, but I'd rather just be convinced that it's ok to send save the dates without pictures and then update our wedding website with them once they're done. What do you all think I should do?? Do people put pictures on their actual invitations? Does this even matter? AM I CRAZY??? Smiley laugh

Just send save the dates without photos, it's really no big deal.

You can send save the dates without pictures. I haven't seen people put pictures on invitations, but I'm sure you could do that if you wanted to. It's also ok to wait a bit to send save the dates, but I would just send them without pictures.

I would send them without photos. I haven't seen wedding invitations with photos before, but it's not like you couldn't do it. Otherwise you can wait until the end of March to send them out once you get your photos back.

We didn’t do save the dates with a photo. I personally didn’t even want to. And they turned out AMAZINGSave the Dates and Pictures 1

We sent our save the dates with selfies that we have taken on some of our adventures. They were more our style and we weren't able to get our engagement pictures done before the weather turned crappy. We are going to do them in the spring and send our invitations with an engagement picture in it.

I've actually seen save the dates with no pictures and they're super cute! I would've done something like this if we didn't take photos

Thanks ladies, we sent out our STDs sans pictures, and will just add them to our website in March after we get them taken. Not sure why I got so crazy about this Smiley tongue
