Save the Dates and Invitations

Miranda, on November 27, 2019 at 10:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

My fiance and I are starting to look into Save the Dates and invitations for our wedding. We are looking for opinions on magnet save the dates vs normal postcard ones. We also are wondering how to send out the Save the Dates, do we send to each household or to each guest individually?

Magnets are great because you know they'll get display, but the cost will be more of course in shipping them as well. I think you just need to send one per household. Imagine having two of the same picture of you on their fridge 😄

    Hey Miranda!

If your guests live together i.e. a couple or a family, then, of course, you can send one invitation per household. If it is the case that you are having an adults-only wedding, then be sure to only address the STD to the parents as opposed to the household e.g. you should address it to Mary and John Smith instead of The Smith Family.

Have you collected all of your guest's addresses yet?

We used magnets for ours. We got them on a really great sale from VistaPrint. I would recommend picking them out now as a lot of them are on sale for Black Friday. We felt magnets were better because people could stick them to their fridge and wouldn't lose it like a piece of paper. Normally you send them to each couple or adult with or without a date. For instance, my husband's cousin is in his 30 and lives with his parents still so we sent a save the date to my husband's aunt and uncle and another save the date to the cousin since he is an adult.
