Save the Dates Addressing

Jennifer, on September 8, 2021 at 2:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

Do addresses on Save the Dates have to be handwritten? I intend to learn how to use a brush pen and use brush calligraphy for our Formal Invitations, but I'm not sure if Save the Dates are the same way. I have a lot of time between now and when I have to send the formal invitations, but not so much for the Save the Dates so I was planning on just printing those out. Alternatively, I do have decent cursive handwriting, but not in any way look like it was written by a professional.

Addresses definitely do not need to be handwritten! Printing them is totally fine. Just be sure that you only address the save the dates to those who will be receiving an invitation.

Honestly, as long as the correct address is on the envelope and it arrives… That’s all that matters! Definitely don’t stress over an envelope that gets trashed.

Save the dates are super informal. Don’t extend the energy unless you want to and have the time for the calligraphy. Printing is fine. Handwriting is preferable for the actual invitation. Get a group together to cut down the labor.

You can handwrite them or print them. The envelope is just going to eventually go in the trash anyways lol

We had minted print all our envelopes. Calligraphy is mad expensive and people throw away envelopes. You're literally throwing money away.

Did you also do that for formal invites? Haha yeah I know which is why I printed out a bunch of calligraphy worksheets and bought a $7 brush pen 🤣

I know! I don’t even want to spend the time to write the actual formal invitations, but I’m deep into practicing already so I probably should just write those. But, it takes so long to write them 🙄 Just glad I don’t have to do this TWICE

    Yup, had Minted print everything.

My handwriting is atrocious, and I wasn't going to pay someone to write envelopes that people are going to throw away. I also don't have time to learn calligraphy (it's also a lost cause-my dr handwriting game is far too strong).

Nobody has called me to shame me yet, so....yeah.
