Save the date

Fatima, on December 14, 2019 at 3:18 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hi everyone so I'm doing a destination wedding and 2021, and I was just curious as to when it would be an appropriate time to send out save the date

In my opinion as soon as you can so people can save. Maybe a year out?

We sent our stuff out at about 6 months which was a month after we started planning. This gave plenty of time for guests to make accommodations. Also, I have seen where brides change their minds on size, location and even guest list. I would wait for awhile.

10-12 months in advance is appropriate for a destination wedding.

I sent online save the dates as soon as we got engaged and secured the venue about 10 months out, and then did post card save the dates (after we did our engagement shoot) about 8 months out.

I'm having a destination wedding in jan 2022. We are booking in july 2020. We will order the STD soon after booking and send them out asap. This will give people plenty of time to plan and save $$$ and more likely they'll be able to come. We will prob send invites 6 mo or so out

I think you should send the save the dates out as soon as possible, both of my cousins gave save the dates out around one year before their weddings and a lot of people had already booked their summer holidays for that year so couldn’t afford to come. The earlier the better imo, our wedding is September 2021 and we will send save the dates around Jan/ Feb 2020.
