Save the Date

Amanda, on October 19, 2019 at 8:16 PM Posted in Planning 1 28
Where did you get your save the dates from? Did you use a website like minted or shutterfly? Did you find a seperate vendor? Not sure what to use that will be very good quality and that will show the quality of our engagement pictures.

If we had used a photo, we would have used minted. I made basic save the dates without a photo. Then tried to do a nicer formal invite.

Honestly I am a part of a few Facebook wedding planning groups. One of them shared a picture of a Save the Date card. Which I am going to try and find. Even though it does not go along with the wedding theme, it is something that just screams my fiancé. My theme is Beauty and the Beast (so more girly girl type of wedding) I saw a picture of a save the date Magic Gathering card (which is like a Pokémon trading card or any other type of card like that.

Sams and Costco both offer them. I want to do a smaller (4 x 6) postcard so I can save on postage. They are about .40 each.

I used Basic Invite with a matte paper for our STD and the photo quality was fine.

I'm using Zazzle. We're not using a photo but I've seen other brides share theirs that did have photos and they used Zazzle as well.

We went with magnets from Shutterfly. We got so many texts telling us how beautiful they were and how they're hanging on everyone's refrigerator. I personally prefer magnets as a guest because holding onto a card 4 six months or more, I'm going to lose track of it, which defeats the whole purpose of trying to remember the date.

Zazzle! They have a app. They customize pretty much anything under the sun. We just ordered our engagement party invites and our save the date. We made the save the date a magnet! So whoever you send it to can just throw it on their fridge! Super convenient and cute!! Smiley smile

We went with a local stationary company who will also be handling our invitations and other stationary for the wedding.

I used one of our engagement photos and overlayed the information on it... Turned out amazing.. I only spent $9.50 on those and an extra $10 on cards they went inside to mail with our wedding colors... I was so happy with how they turned out that I'm doing the same for the invite.. RSVP to a website we have set up.. making things so easy to keep track on who's coming.

We actually got ours from Walgreens. They have some pretty nice templates where you can add your engagement pictures. They also had a coupon (and very often do!) for 50% off cards and such. 60 Save the Dates came out to $30, envelope included. We didn’t wanna spend a fortune on something people weren’t gonna keep, and it fits our venue.
